The Stony Garden

StonY Garden is considered as one of the masterpieces in the world history. In the vicinity of Bolourd villages , it is located in Meyandou Ab,  45 km in the southeast of Sirjan constructed by a deaf farmer named Darvish Khan Esfandiarpor" who involved in agricultural activity.
He was one of the landowners in Sirjan; few years after the “Land Reforms”, he lost many of his lands in 1962 and as a means of protest, he ornamented his garden trees, which were all dried up, with hanging stones as ornaments. 
Darvish Khan played in movie “Stony Garden” directed by Parviz Kimiavi in 1977 that was displayed in many national and international festivals.
“Darvish Khan’s role is deaf man whose family lives through the pastoral earnings. One day, Darvish khan sleeps in the desert and he is inspired through dreams. After being awake, he observes a strange rock under his head and takes it home and hangs it on a tree. On the following days,Darvish Khan finds another pieces of stones . By using the telegraph wires, he hangs the rocks on the trees around his tent. Soon a stone garden around the tent is set up. People from far and near villages come to watch and
Darvish Khan's wife will claim money and gifts in exchange of people coming to the rock garden, and disturbs Darvish khan’s life with her greed and avarice.

Darvish Khan died after 90 years of life, in 2007 and his corpse was buried in the Stony Garden of Sirjan.
